Note: The Norwegian Forces Museum has a uniform tunic sleeve with KRETA band. This was a German military decoration awarded to Wehrmacht servicemen who took part in the Battle of Crete between 20 and 27 May 1941. This was the first occasion where German paratroops were used en masse, the first mainly airborne invasion in military history, and also the first time the Allies made significant use of intelligence from decrypted German messages from the Enigma machine
