Description

A 1898 Sudan Distinguished Conduct Medal group of four awarded to Private A. Cameron, Seaforth Highlanders, comprising (1) Distinguished Conduct Medal (edge: Pte. A. Cameron. Sea: Highrs), (2) India General Service Medal 1898-1902 in silver with one clasp: Relief of Chitral (edge: Pte. A. Cameron 2nd Bn. Seaforth Highrs), (3) Queen's Sudan 1896-1898 (edge: 4663 Pte. A. Cameron 1/Sea Hrs), (4) Khedives's Sudan 1896-1908 in silver with two clasps The Atbara and Khartoum inscribed in English and Arabic. (edge: 4663 Pte. A. Cameron 1st Sea Highrs.) The top lugs filled with a retaining rod, overall VF with evidence of light cleaning and some light contact marks overall. The D.C.M recommendation was submitted to Queen Victoria on 6/4/1899, and was published in Army Order 153/99 September 1899. This is one of 8 D.C.M's awarded to the Seaforth Highlanders regiment for this Campaign. Ex-Stanley Gibbons Investments.
