Description

Crown George IV undated Pattern (c.1829) ESC 265A, Bull 2353, struck in White Metal. Obverse similar in style to the 1821 crowns, with no B.P. below the bust. Reverse Royal Arms with supporters, with M (Merlen) below. Similar in style to the Whiteaves patterns of the period, No legend, 16.79 grammes, Near EF with a few surface marks, Extremely Rare, rated R6 by ESC (3 or 4 examples known). We note the example in the Maritime Collection (London Coins Auction A148 Lot 1782 realised £1500 hammer price as far back as September 2014
