SERBIA. Djuradj I Brankovic, Despot, 1427-1456. Gros (Silver, 17 mm, 0.83 g, 12 h). ΓN[b] / ДЕСПОТЬ / TbГЮP/bΓbΓ ('Lord Despot Djuradj' in Serbian). Rev. Lion rampant to left, surrounded by four six-pointed stars. Jovanovic, SMC, p. 135, 29. Jovanovic, Srpski Srednjovekovni Novac, 42.14. Good very fine.
From a collection of coins from the medieval Balkans.
The lion rampant was the coat of arms of the Branković family.
