CRUSADERS. Crusader Imitations of Islamic Dirhams. Half Dirham (Silver, 16 mm, 1.64 g, 4 h), imitating an Ayyubid half dirham from Damascus, Akka (Acre), AH 651 = AD 1253. Album 850.B. Malloy 10. Metcalf, Crusades, -. Wäckerlin -. Very rare. Minor marks, otherwise, very fine.
This interesting imitation bears the Christian date 1253 instead of the usual hijri date.
