Description

Constantine I (?), 307/310-337. Follis (Bronze, 20 mm, 3.48 g, 12 h), Rome, 314-315. Incuse of reverse. Rev. SOLI INV-I-CTO COMITI / R / X / [F / RP] Sol standing front, head to left, nude but for chlamys, raising his right hand in salute and holding globe in his left. RIC 27 ff. Minor scratches on the obverse, otherwise, about very fine.

From the Tetrarchy Collection, formed over the past twenty-five years.

Reverse brockages are suprisingly rare: in the case of this example, the reverse belongs to either Constantine I or Licinius I.
