★ A beautifully toned denarius of Octavian ★
Octavian, 44-27 BC. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 3.83 g, 9 h), Brundisium or Rome, circa 32-29 BC. Bare head of Octavian to right. Rev. CAESAR - DIVI F Mercury seated right on rock, petasus slung on his back, playing lyre. BMC 597. Cohen 61. RIC 257. Beautifully toned. Scratches on the obverse and the reverse struck somewhat off center, otherwise, good very fine.
