★ An extremely rare tetradrachm of Caracalla from Aradus ★

PHOENICIA. Aradus. Caracalla, 198-217. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 13.23 g, 11 h), 215-217. ΑΥ [...] ΑΥ ΑΝΤΩΝЄΙΝΟC Radiate and cuirassed bust of Caracalla to right, seen from behind. Rev. ΔHMAPX ЄΞ YΠATOC TO / Δ Eagle standing facing with wings spread, head to right and holding wreath in beak; between the eagle's legs, head of a bull to right. Prieur 1236. Extremely rare. Light flan fault on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
