★ An unusual mint only attested under Yazdgard I ★
SASANIAN KINGS. Yazdgard I, 399-420. Drachm (Silver, 27 mm, 3.94 g, 3 h), KWN LYW (probably Rew-Ardashir). MZDYSN BGY L'MŠTLY YZDKLTY MLKAn MLKA ('Worshipper of Lord Mazda, 'God' and Delight of the Empire, Yazdgard, King of Kings' in Pahlawi) Draped bust of Yazdgard I to right, wearing elaborate crown with korymbos and crescent on forehead. Rev. KWN LYW (name of the mint in Pahlawi) Fire altar flanked by two attendants. SNS III, pl. 52, 40. Struck from worn dies, otherwise, very fine.

The mint KWN LYW (probably Rew-Ardashir) is only attested under Yazdgard I.
