★ A nicely toned late tetradrachm of Eukratides I ★

BAKTRIA, Greco-Baktrian Kingdom. Eukratides I, circa 170-145 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33 mm, 16.52 g, 12 h), Baktra, circa 162-145. Diademed and draped bust of Eukratides to right, wearing Macedonian helmet adorned with bull's horn and ear. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ MEΓAΛOΥ / EΥKΡATIΔOΥ The Dioskouri galloping to right, each holding spear and palm frond; to lower right, monogram. Bopearachchi Série 6EE. HGC 12, 131. SNG ANS -. Nicely toned. Somewhat porous, otherwise, good very fine.

From an old Swiss collection, formed in the 1970s.
