Description

THESSALY. Larissa. Circa 420-400 BC. Drachm (Silver, 20 mm, 5.85 g, 12 h). Thessalos, with petasos and cloak over his shoulders, wrestling down bull right by band held around its head. Rev. ΛAPI-ΣAI Bridled horse with trailing rein galloping to right. BCD Thessaly II 177 var. HGC 4, 425 var. Horn silver on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.

From an old Swiss collection, formed in the 1970s.
