★ A very rare litra from Aitna ★

SICILY. Aitna. Circa 460s-450s BC. Litra (Silver, 10 mm, 0.62 g, 6 h). Balding head of Silenos to right, with an animal ear and a long beard. Rev. AI-TN Winged thunderbolt. HGC 2, 65. SNG ANS 1239. Very rare. A nicely toned example of fine style. The reverse struck somewhat off center, otherwise, very fine.
