★ A charming tetrobol from the Insubres ★
CELTIC, Southern Gaul. Insubres. 2nd century BC. Tetrobol (Silver, 12 mm, 2.08 g, 12 h), imitating Massalia. Female head to right, wearing triple-pendant earring and necklace. Rev. Lion walking right; above, imitative legend. CCCBM II 18-20. An interesting issue with a particularly charming reverse. The obverse struck from a worn die, otherwise, very fine.
