★ Struck in exceptionally high relief, from the collection of Kommerzienrat H. Otto, Hess 207, 1931, 642 ★

SELEUKID KINGS. Antiochos I Soter, 281-261 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 17.11 g, 4 h), Seleukeia on the Tigris. Diademed head of Antiochos I to right. Rev. ΒAΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ANTIOXOY Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; to left, monogram of AP; to right, monogram of OXY. ESM 155ζ ( this coin ). SC 379.3c. Beautifully toned and struck in exceptionally high relief, and with a fine old pedigree. A few light marks, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.

From the Basileiai Hellēnikai Collection of Exceptional Tetradrachms, from an old Swiss collection formed since the 19th century, Hess-Divo 340, 1 June 2022, 49 (but without further pedigree), and from the collection of Kommerzienrat H. Otto, Hess 207, 1 December 1931, 642.
