★ A very rare Obol from Amphipolis of exceptionally fine style ★
MACEDON. Amphipolis. Late 5th-early 4th century BC. Obol (Silver, 9 mm, 0.45 g, 11 h). Youthful male head (Apollo?) to right, wearing taenia. Rev. ΑΜ-ΦI Fish (perch) swimming diagonally downwards to right; all within linear square within incuse square. HGC 3.1, 416. Lorber Group I, 67 (O.o.1/R.o.1)). SNG ANS -. Very rare. Very well struck on unusually good silver and of exceptionally fine style. Slightly granular, otherwise, extremely fine.
