MACEDON. Akanthos. Circa 500-480 BC. Tetrobol (Silver, 16 mm, 2.49 g). Forepart of a lioness to right, head seen from above; above, floral ornament. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. AMNG III 13. BMC 10-2. HGC 3.1, 386. SNG ANS 19-20. SNG Berry 4-5. Beautifully toned and of powerful late Archaic style. A few faint scratches, otherwise, extremely fine.
