★ An exceptionally fresh drachm of Lysimachos struck in very high relief ★

KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos, 305-281 BC. Drachm (Silver, 19 mm, 4.32 g, 12 h), Ephesos, circa 295/4-289/8. Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟ[Υ] Athena seated left, holding Nike, crowning the king's name, in her right hand and leaning with her left arm on shield decorated with lion's head; behind, transverse spear; in inner left field, bee to left between E-Φ. Müller 421. Thompson 168. An exceptionally fresh and attractive example struck in very high relief. A few faint marks, otherwise, good extremely fine.

Ex Leu 11, 14 May 2022, 45 and previously from a European collection, formed before 2005.
