CENTRAL EUROPE. Rauraci. Circa 50-30 BC. Quinarius (Silver, 12 mm, 1.63 g, 4 h). NIN[NO] Draped bust of youthful male to left, with wing in his hair. Rev. MAVC Boar standing to left. DT 3279. LT -. Nick p. 54, 1-5. Scheers, Lyon, 1196. SLM 966-72. G. Wüthrich: Celtic Numismatics in Switzerland, in: NC Sixth Series, Vol. 5, no. 1/2 (1945), 14 and pl. I, 15 ( this coin ). Attractive old collection toning and with an excellent pedigree. Struck somewhat off center, otherwise, very fine.

From the collection of Gottlieb Wüthrich (1879-1946), Münzen & Medaillen AG 47, 30 November-1 December 1972, 365 (with collector's ticket, acquired by D. Franceschi) and from the collection of Félicien de Saulcy (1807-1880), Cahn 81, 5 April 1933, 1633.
