Description

KINGS OF PERSIS. Artaxerxes (Ardaxshir) II, late 1st century BC. Drachm (Silver, 19 mm, 2.00 g, 4 h), Istakhr (Persepolis). Draped bust of Artaxerxes II to left, wearing mural crown and diadem; in field to right, monogram. Rev. Artaxerxes II standing left, holding scepter and sacrificing before altar to left. Alram 570/573. Klose & Müseler 4/10e. Sunrise -. Van't Haaff 570/573.2-2. Darkly toned. Struck on a somewhat irregular flan and with minor flan faults on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
