CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 470-450 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 3.67 g, 2 h). ΤΑRΑΣ Forepart of a hippocamp to left; below, shell. Rev. Head of the nymph Satyra to right, her hair bound with three fillets. HN Italy 839. SNG ANS 847 ( same dies ). Vlasto 156 ( same dies ). Very rare and attractively toned. Minor areas of weakness, otherwise, very fine.
