Leo I, 457-474. Weight of 1 Nomisma (Bronze, 17x17 mm, 3.78 g, 6 h), Thessalonica (?). Diademed and draped facing bust of Leo I. Rev. Monogram of Leo. Bendall 16 ( same dies ). MAH -. Pera -. Extremely rare and very interesting. Earthen deposits, otherwise, about very fine.

Bendall notes that this form of monogram, with the E to the left, is only found on coins from the mint of Thessalonica, which was perhaps the place of manufacture for this weight as well.
