L. Cornelius Lentulus and C. Claudius Marcellus, 49 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.99 g, 4 h), military mint travelling with Pompey in the East. Triskeles, with winged head of Medusa facing at center; stalk of grain between each leg. Rev. COS / LENT - MAR Jupiter standing front, head to right, holding thunderbolt in his right hand and eagle in his left. Babelon (Cornelia) 64 and (Claudia) 9. Crawford 445/1b. RBW 1562. Sydenham 1029a. A very well centered piece with most attractive bluish toning. Struck from a slightly worn reverse die, otherwise, good very fine.
