CILICIA. Lamus. Septimius Severus, 193-211. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 32 mm, 16.02 g, 6 h). AYT•K•Λ•CЄΠ• CЄYHPOC•ΠЄ Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus to right, seen from behind. Rev. ΛAMω MHTP ΛAMωTIΔ Eagle standing left on cippus, wings spread and head to right, holding wreath in beak. Levante, Lamus -. SNG Copenhagen -. SNG Levante -. SNG Leypold -. SNG Paris -, cf. 691 (for Caracalla). SNG von Aulock -. Unpublished and unique. A lovely issue from a very rare mint, and with a particularly charming portrait. Minor flan fault on the obverse and the reverse struck somewhat off center, otherwise, good very fine.
