★ The third known example and in exceptional condition for an Antiochian tetradrachm ★

CARIA. Antioch ad Maeandrum. Circa 85-65/60 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 16.01 g, 12 h), Damokrates, magistrate. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ANTIOXEΩN ΔAMOKPATHΣ Eagle, with closed wings, standing left on maeander pattern; before, lion skin draped over club; all within oak (or ivy?) wreath. BMC -. Lanz 20 (1981), 245 ( same obverse die ).
