Drachm (Silver, 30 mm, 3.71 g, 3 h), Arab-Sasanian type, citing governor ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿAmir (circa AH 41-45 / AD 661-664), DA (Darabgird), AH 43 = AD 663/4. Draped bust resembling Khosrau II to right, wearing an elaborate mural crown; behind head, ‘GDE / ʾp̄zwt'’ (‘[may his] glory increase’ in Pahlavi); before head, ‘ʾp̄dwlʾ / Y ʾmwlʾn’ (‘ʿAbd Allah son of ʿAmir’ in Pahlavi); in the outer margin, ‘bism Allāh’ (‘In the name of Allah’ in Arabic). Rev. Zoroastrian fire altar with ribbons, flanked by two attendants; above altar, star and crescent; to left, date in Pahlavi; to right, DA (abbreviation for the name of the mint in Pahlavi). Album 6. Struck from slightly worn dies and with a minor corrosion spot on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
