★ An intriguing early Byzantine seal with an extraordinary portrait ★
Uncertain, circa 550-650. Seal (Lead, 16 mm, 5.51 g, 12 h). Draped bust of a young man facing, with short hair. Rev. Cruciform monogram E, ૪, E, Θ, C, A and Ⲱ. Unpublished in the standard references. An intriguing early Byzantine seal with an extraordinary portrait. Very fine.
