Anonymous, circa 268-280s. Seal (Lead, 23 mm, 10.25 g). Laureate and cuirassed imperial bust to right. Boersema/Dalzell, Vossen collection 136. Very fine.

From a European collection, formed before 2005.

The bust is certainly imperial in nature. It resembles the portraits of various barracks emperors, especially those found on Alexandrian tetradrachms. However, it is difficult to determine whether it represents Claudius II, Aurelian, Probus, Diocletian, Maximian, or another ruler.
