Markellos, 6th century. Seal (Lead, 24 mm, 12.36 g, 12 h). The prophet Daniel standing facing, both hands raised in prayer, between two lions; in left field, star. Rev. Block monogram MAPKEΛΛOV; cross in upper field. Unpublished in the standard references. A wonderful seal with a rare narrative scene from Scripture. Good very fine.
