LOWER DANUBE. Imitations of Thasos. Late 2nd-1st century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32 mm, 15.23 g, 8 h). Celticized head of Dionysos to right, wearing wreath of ivy and fruit. Rev. Celticized Herakles standing front, his arms with branch-like endings; legend degraded to dots. Dembski -. Flesche -. Lanz -. Lukanc pl. 154, 1751 ( same dies ). OTA Class V. Nicely toned. Numerous light scratches and minor marks, otherwise, very fine.
