★ Beautifully patinated and with a fine portrait ★

Constantine I, 307/310-337. Follis (Bronze, 18 mm, 2.28 g, 12 h), Cyzicus, 331-334. CONSTANTI-NVS MAX AVG Pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantine I to right. Rev. GLOR-IA EXERC-ITVS / SMKΔ Two soldiers standing facing each other, each holding inverted spear in his outer hand and placing his inner hand on shield set on ground; between them, two signa. RIC 79. A beautifully patinated piece with a fine portrait. Minor weakness on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.

This is the very first occurrence in which Constantine I is shown wearing the pearl diadem. After his death, this diadem was commonly used by his sons.
