SAMARIA. Late 5th to late 4th century BC. M'h (Silver, 9 mm, 0.58 g, 9 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet. Rev. 𐡔-𐡍 ('š-n' in Aramaic) Owl standing facing, wings spread; all within shallow incuse square. Jeselsohn 145-149. Meshorer & Qedar 87. Darkly toned. Somewhat rough, otherwise, very fine.

This type is derived from the famous Athenian dekadrachm.
