KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 17.13 g, 3 h), Arados, struck under Menes or Laomedon, circa 324/3-320. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, ΣΩ; below throne, monogram of AP. Price 3321. Struck in high relief. The reverse struck somewhat off center, otherwise, good very fine.
