KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 16.90 g, 12 h), uncertain mint in northwestern Asia Minor, circa 220-190 BC. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. [A]ΛEΞANΔPO[Y] Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, club; below throne, monogram of ANT. Price -. Extremely rare and with a very interesting reverse symbol. Struck on a slightly short flan and with a few light marks, otherwise, good very fine.
