Justinian I, 527-565. Light weight Solidus of 20 Siliquae (Gold, 18 mm, 3.30 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis, 545-565. D N IVSTINIANVS P P AVG Helmeted and cuirassed bust of Justinian I facing, holding globus cruciger in his right hand and with a shield, decorated with a horseman spearing a fallen foe, over his left shoulder. Rev. VICTORIA AVGGG I / OBXX Angel standing facing, holding long cross in his right hand and globus cruciger in his left; in field to right, star. DOC 10. MIB 16. SB 142. Somewhat clipped, otherwise, about extremely fine.
