Description

★ LICINNIS instead of LICINIVS ★

Licinius I, 308-324. Follis (Silvered bronze, 20 mm, 3.44 g, 11 h), Alexandria, 314-315. IMP C LIC LICINNIS (sic!) P F AVG Laureate head of Licinius I to right. Rev. IOVI CONS-ERVATORI / N - Γ / ALE Jupiter standing front, head to left, holding Victory on globe in his right hand and long scepter in his left; at his feet, eagle standing left, head right. RIC 7 var. (obverse legend). Very rare with this interesting spelling error on the obverse. Light deposits, otherwise, very fine.
