Description

PHOENICIA. Aradus. Macrinus, 217-218. Tetradrachm (Billon, 25 mm, 12.54 g, 6 h). [AYT•KAI•M]•O•CЄ•MAKPIN[OC•C•] Laureate and draped bust of Macrinus to right. Rev. ΔHMAPX ЄΞ YΠATO Α Eagle standing facing, head and tail right, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; between legs, bull’s head right. Prieur 1244. Very rare. The obverse weakly struck and with some flan faults, otherwise, very fine.
