Description

★ Boldly struck and of fine style ★

PHRYGIA. Hierapolis. Pseudo-autonomous issue. Assarion (Bronze, 20 mm, 5.00 g, 6 h), circa 2nd century AD. Draped bust of Sarapis to right, wearing kalathos. Rev. ΙΕΡΑΠ-OΛΕΙΤΩΝ Zeus-Lydios standing front, head to left, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left. BMC 27-8. RPC IV.2 online 2039. SNG Copenhagen 424-5. Boldly struck and of fine style. Good very fine.
