SELEUKID KINGS. Seleukos IV Philopator, 187-175 BC. Tetradrachm (Subaeratus, 29 mm, 14.69 g, 1 h), a contemporary plated imitation. Imitating Antiochia on the Orontes. Diademed head of Seleukos IV to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΣΕΛYKOY Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding two arrows in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; to outer left, filleted palm branch; in exergue, monogram of ΔΙ. Cf. HGC 9, 580e and SC 1313.2 (for prototype). Minor breaks in plating, otherwise, very fine.
