★ A rare panther issue from Amisos ★

PONTOS. Amisos. Time of Mithradates VI Eupator, circa 85-65 BC. AE (Orichalcum, 18 mm, 3.92 g, 12 h). Panther standing to right, head facing, holding stag head in forepaws. Rev. ΑΜΙΣΟ[Υ] Panther skin and thyrsos on cista mystica. HGC 7, 252. SNG BM Black Sea 1211. Rare and with a beautiful obverse. The reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
