Description

KYRENAICA. Kyrene. Circa 435-375 BC. Dilitron (Gold, 11 mm, 1.71 g, 12 h). Silphion plant with two pairs of leaves and fruits. Rev. Bearded head of Zeus-Ammon to right, with ram's horn over his ear. BMC 62 and pl. VII, 23 ( same dies ). BMFA 1314 = Naville 6a and pl. I, 6 ( same dies ). Extremely rare. Somewhat rough, otherwise, good very fine.
