Description

Constantine IV Pogonatus, with Heraclius and Tiberius, 668-685. Solidus (Gold, 19 mm, 4.41 g, 7 h), Constantinopolis, 668-673. δ N CONSTANЧS P P' Diademed, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Constantine IV facing slightly to right, bearded, holding a spear with his right hand and with a shield decorated with cavalryman over his left shoulder. Rev. VICTOA AVGЧ B / CONOB Cross potent on three steps between standing figures of Heraclius on left and Tiberius on right; both crowned, wearing chlamys and holding a globus cruciger in their right hands. DOC 6b. MIB 4C. SB 1153. Minor areas of weakness, otherwise, very fine.
