AE (Bronze, 26 mm, 16.00 g, 12 h), imitative issue struck under Hieron II of Syracuse (275-215), uncertain mint in Sicily (Syracuse?), circa 264-263. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΠTOΛEMAIOY Eagle with closed wings standing left on thunderbolt; to left, shield. CPE B297. Svoronos 615. A beautiful example with a splendid dark olive green patina. Flan fault on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
