ISLAMIC, Ottoman Empire. Mahmud II, AH 1223-1255 / AD 1808-1839. Fractional altın (Gold, 13 mm, 0.19 g, 12 h), Qustantaniya (Constantinople/Istanbul), AH 1223, RY 22 = 1808/9. Tughra in center; branch to right; crescent and moon to left; below, ‘875’ (= 21 karat). Rev. Within a circle, '22 / ḍuriba fī / Qusṭanṭaniya / 1223’ (‘[RY] 22. Struck in Qustantaniya. 1223’ in Arabic). Suspension loop. Wavy flan and with some scratches, otherwise, very fine.
