Struck in Bukhara, year …’ in Arabic, with illegible date in numerals); the names of the four Rashidun Caliphs in the margin. Rev. Within a pointed pentagon, ‘[al-raḥmān / al-muẓaffar] ʿalā aʿdā / [al-sulṭān al-ʿādil] Abu’l-Muẓaffar / Qāzān – wa sulṭānahū / khallada Allāh mulkahū’ (‘The victor over the enemies of the Beneficent [Allah], the just sultan Abu’l-Muzaffar Qazan. May Allah perpetuate his kingdom and sovereignty’ in Arabic); tamgha after Qazan’s name; date formula in the margin, ‘fī sana / … / [a]rbaʿīn / sabʿa miʾa’ (‘In the year 74[x]’ in Arabic).
