ISLAMIC, Mongols. Chaghatayid Khans. temp. Yesü Möngke, AH 644-649 / AD 1246-1251. Dirham (Silver, 23 mm, 2.29 g), Almaligh, AH 649 = 1251/2. ‘al-mulk lillāh / al-ḥamd lillāh’ (‘The kingdom is Allah’s. Praise be to Allah’ in Arabic); date formula around. Rev. Mint name within a central circle; Kalima and the name of the deceased ʿAbbasid caliph al-Nasir li-din Allah (AH 575-622 / AD 1180-1225) in the inner margin; illegible outer margin. Album 1981. Rare. Broken and glued, otherwise, very fine.
