Around an ornated square, ‘lā / ilāha / illā / Allāh’, within the square, ‘waḥdahū’ (‘There is no deity but Allah, the One’ in Arabic). Rev. Within a circle, ‘Muḥammad / rasūl / Allāh’ (‘Muhammad is the messenger of Allah’ in Arabic); in the margin, ‘bi amr al-amīr Hishām ibn ʿAmr bi al-Mawṣil’ (‘By the order of Amir Hisham ibn ʿAmr in al-Mawsil’ in Arabic).
