★ An extremely rare and interesting seal bearing a Cyrillic legend ★
Basil, 12th century. Seal (Lead, 25 mm, 20.72 g, 12 h). Faint traces of legend Nimbate bust of Saint Basil facing. Rev. 'Lord, help your servant Basil' in five lines in Cyrillic script. Unpublished in the standard references. An extremely rare and interesting seal bearing a Cyrillic legend. Very fine.
Ex Leu Web Auction 27, 9-11 September 2023, 2390, and previously from a European collection, formed before 2005.
