KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 4.29 g, 12 h), Abydos, struck under Antigonos I Monophthalmos, circa 310-301. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔP[OY] Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram; below throne, Ζ. Price 1528. The obverse struck slightly off center and with light scratches, otherwise, about extremely fine.
