Description
ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 500-480 BC. Obol (Silver, 9 mm, 0.50 g, 1 h). Two dolphins swimming in opposite directions; pellets around. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Le Rider, Thasiennes 9; HGC 6, 337. Darkly toned. Struck slightly off center and with somewhat granular surfaces, otherwise, very fine.
