Description

SICILY. Entella (?). Punic issues, circa 345/38-320/15 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 16.90 g, 11 h). Head of Tanit-Persephone to left, wearing wreath of grain leaves, single pendant earring and plain necklace; to right, Punic letter 𐤌 ('mem'). Rev. Horse prancing to left; behind, palm tree with two date clusters. Jenkins, Punic, 61 (O16/R55). Very rare. Somewhat porous and with an area of delamination on the obverse and some scratches on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
